Common Name The Cup-Bearing Pleurothallis [refers to the Labellar callus]

Found in the state of Risaralda in Colombia as a small sized epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls with a tubular sheath below the middle and 2 to 3 basal sheaths with a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical petiolate, acute, lightly acuminate leaf that is cuneate below into the petiole that blooms on a pendant, few flowered, racemose, 3/4" [2 cm] long inflorescence arising from an ovate spathe at the apex of the ramicaul and carrying infundibular floral bracts and flowers in the spring.
Certainly related to P strobilifera but it differs in having petiolate leaves, smaller yellow-green flowers with a circular, callous margined depression in the center of the lip.
