Common Name The Bent Pleurothallis [refers to the flexuous rachis]

Found in Tolima and Cundinamarca departments of Colombia at elevations around 1500 to 1850 meters as a small sized, cool growing terrestrial with stout erect ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 thin, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, thickly coriaceous, elliptical, acute to subacute, gradually narrowing below into the subpetiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter on a very flexuous, slender, disitichous, 10" [25 cm] long, loose, successively several flowered, racemose inflorescence arising from the apex of the ramicaul through a spathe and carrying oblique, acute, conduplicate floral bracts.
Similar species include P funerea and P angulosa.
