Common Name The Regal Trisetella [Refers to the flowers large size]
Flower Size 1.2" x 4.8" [3 x 12 cm]
Found in north central Peru at elevations around 2500 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 thin, tubular sheaths carrying a single, apical, erect, thickly coriaceous, narrowly semiterete, lightly sulcate, acute, dark green leaf that blooms in the summer on a slender, erect, stiff, scabrous, 6 to 8" [15 to 20 cm] long, congested, successively single flowered, racemose inflorescence arisng from low on the ramicaul with a bract below the middle and a thin, imbricating floral bract carrying a single flower that is the largest of the genus
