Found in northern Venezuela and Ecuador in montane cloud forests at elevations around 1300 to 1600 meters as a miniature sized, cool growing epiphtye with approximate, erect ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3 tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, spathulate, attenuate towards the base into the small, petiolate base leaf that blooms at most any time fo the year on a solitary, shorter than the leaf, 1.2 to 2.4" [3 to 6 cm] long including the .4" [1 cm] long peduncle, racemose, distichous, pauciflorus almost down to the base inflorescence arising through a small, acuminate spathe and has cucullate, shortly apiculate floral bracts.
