Found in Zamora Chinchipe Ecuador at elevations around 1650 meters as a mini-miniature to miniature sized, cool growing epiphtye with an erect, stout ramicaul enveloped by a loose tubular sheath below the middle and another at the base and carrying a single, apical, erect, thickly coriaceous, elliptical, obtuse, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a solitary, erect, strict, stout, congested, distichous, 8.8" [22 cm] long including the 3.2" [8 cm] long peduncle, simultaneously several, many flowered inflorescence arising through a spathe from below the apex of the ramicaul and has broadly infundibular, dilated, acute floral bracts.
