Found in Junin Peru at elevations around 1900 to 2400 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with crowded erect ramicauls enveloped by 3 tubular, imbricate, evanescent sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, subcoriaceous, oblong to elliptic oblong, obtuse and tridenticulate apically, gradually narrows below into the petilolate base lef that blooms late summer and early fall on 1 to 2, much longer than the leaf, 4.8 to 5.6" [12 to 14 cm] long including the 1.2" [3 cm] long peduncle, arched, distichous, secund, many flowered inflorescence arising through an acute spathe and has navicular-cucullate, retuse at the base, acute floral bracts
