Found in Azuay Ecuador at elevations around 2800 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped by a close tubular sheath near the middle and 1 to 2 others above the base and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, subacute, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the early summer on 2, erect, congested, secund, 9.2 to 13.2” [23 to 33 cm] long including the 2.4 to 3.6” [6 to 9 cm] long peduncle, mostly simultaneously many flowered inflorescence arising through a spathe from a node below the apex of the ramicaul with tubular, obtuse floral bracts.
