Common Name The Sun-Loving Stelis
Flower Size 1/6" [4 mm]
Found in Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Surinam, Brazil, Peru and Bolivia in low to high elevation, wet montane foersts at elevations of 70 to 1800 meters as a miniature sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with robust ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 scarious, tight sheaths and carrying a single apical, erect, subcoriaceous, linear-lanceolate, gradually narrows below into the conduplicate, sulcate petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter and spring through an annulus with an erect, to 4 1/5" [11 cm] long, many [30] flowered inflorescence with tight, tubular floral bracts.
