Common Name Adriana's Stelis [Ecuadorian Collectors Wife Current]

Found in Ecuador at elevations around 1650 meters as a miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with ascending-erect, stout, fascicled ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, purple, erect, thickly coriaceous, elliptical, subacute to obtuse, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a congested, two ranked, distichous, 8" [20 cm] long including the 6" [15 cm] long peduncle, simultaneously many flowered inflorecence arising from the base of the leaf with tubular floral bracts.
