Found in Colombia and Venezuela at elevations of 2700 to 3200 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with an erect stem carrying erect-patent, elliptic-lanceolate, acuminate, plicate, 5 nerved leaves that blooms on an axillary, compressed, ancipitous, short, racemose, 6 to 12 flowered inflorescence with erect-patent, lanceolate, acute floral bracts
