Common Name The Finger Scaphosepalum

Found in Ecuador in wet forests at elevations around 1250 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptic, subacute to acute, cuneate below into the slender, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a loose to subdense, flexuous, successively several flowered, to 3.6" [to 9 cm] long, racemose inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul.
