Common Name Tsubota's Restrepia [Colombian Nurseyman current]

Found in Antioquia Colombia in humid jungles at elevations around 600 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot growing epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped completely by imbricate, thin, whitish, loose, oblique, compressed sheaths with the lower being spotted with black and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, more or less suffused with purple beneath, elliptical-ovate, subacute, rounded or basally cuneate and contracted below into the twisted petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on an arising on the back of the leaf, erect, slender, 1.4 to 1.6" [3.5 to 4 cm] long, successively single flowered fascile with a thin, tubular flroal bract.
