Found in the Yungas mountains of Bolivia at elevations around 1820 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with erect, stout ramicauls enveloped basally by 6 to 7 laterally compressed, imbricating, ribbed, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, subacute, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late spring on a fascile of .2" [5 mm] long, succssively single flowered inflorescence arising from near the apex of the ramicaul.
