Common Name Wiggins' Pleurothallis [American Botanist and collector of species 1900's]

Flower Size .4" [1 cm]

Found in Ecuador at elevations of 2800 to 3200 meters as a miniature to small sized, cold growing epiphyte with slender, suberect ramicauls enveloped by a tubular sheath below the middle and 2 to 3 others at the base and carrying a single, apical, more or less spreading to horizontal, coriaceous, narrowly ovate, acute, acuminate, rounded to cuneate below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the spring through earlier summer on a fascile of .8 to 1.6" [2 to 4 cm] long peduncles, successivesly single flowered inflorescence arising through a spathe at the base of the leaf with an tubular floral bract.
