Common Name The Devourer Pleurothallis [An illusion to the column poised over the lip as the head of an animal about to eat from a dish]

Found in Ecuador and Bolivia in cloud forests at elevations around 1000 to 2800 meters as a miniature to small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped basally by inflated tubular sheaths that are ancipitous toward the apex and carrying a single, apical, elliptic, acute, conduplicate below into the base leaf that blooms in the late spring on a fascile of successive, 1" [2.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence holding the flower above the mid vein of the folded leaf.
