Found in Zamora Chinchipe Ecuador at elevations around 2100 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by a tubular sheath below the middle and 2 to 3 loose, imbricating sheaths at the base and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly elliptical-oblong, subacute to obtuse, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter on a 1" + [2.5 cm +] long, densely and simultaneously few flowered inflorecence arising through a spathe with an annulus adjacent to the abcission layer
