Found in Pichincha province of Ecuador at elevations around 1200 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, acute, cuneate below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the late summer and early fall on an erect to reclining, 1.6 to 2" [4 to 5 cm] long including the stout .4 to .6" [1 to 1.5 cm] long peduncle, simultaneously 5 to 7 flowered inflorescence arising through a spathe at the base of the leaf.
