Found in Rio De Janeiro Brazil in wet montane forests at elevations around 800 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with slender, erect, ramicauls enveloped by 3 to 5, imbricating, orange-brown, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, flattish, elliptical, leathery, faintly conduplicate , narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on an erect, 4 to 6" [10 to 15 cm] long, successively single, 5 to 7 flowered inflorescence
