Common Name The Long Snout Pleurothallis

Flower Size .15" [3 mm]

Found in Antioquia department of Colombia in dense forests at elevations around 2500 to 2800 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with erefct, slender, terete ramicauls enveloped by a close tubular sheath around the middle and 1 or 2 more at the base and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly elliptical, acute, cuneate below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the spring and fall on 1 to 3, slender, erect, distichous, densely many flowered, racemose inflorescence arising through a spathe with brown, broadly ovate floral bracts

"Similar to P divaricans and it's relatives but differs in the dorsal sepal and synsepal with recurved tips, acute petals, a concave lip with a shortly acute, recurved tip and a proportionally large red anther cap as well as the long, red- protruding rostellum." Luer 1999
