Common Name The Magdalena Pleurothallis [A river and town near where the species was first encountered]

Found in Colombia and Ecuador in dense forests at elevations around 1800 to 2500 meters as a mini-miniature to small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with a slender, erect ramicaul with a tubular sheath near the middle and 2 others at the base and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly elliptical, acute to subacute, narrowly cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter on an erect, strict, sublax, subsecund, 2 to 6" [5 to 15 cm] long, simultaneously several to many flowered, racemose inflorescence arising through a spathe and an annulus below the apex of the ramicaul with oblique, acute floral bracts.

CAUTION The photo attributed to P magdalenae is closer to P bracteosa with the frilly verrucose lip so please use with caution. I await more information!
