Found in Narino department of Colombia and Manabi province of Ecuador at elevations of 500 to 2300 meters as a miniature to small sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by a tubular sheath below the middle and another 2 to 3 at the base and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, broadly elliptical, obtuse to rounded apically, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the later summer and fall on 1 to 2, loose, subsecund, 4.4 to 7.2" [11 to 18 cm] long including the 2" [5 cm] long peduncle, simultaneously several to many flowered inflorescence, arising through a spathe from an annulus below the apex of the ramicaul.
"Distinguished by the broadly elliptical, obtuse leaves surpassed by a twice larger, subsecund, many flowered raceme. The sepals are ovate, acute and minutely ciliate, the petals are oblong and retuse at the apex and the lip is broadly obovate, pyriform or spathulate with a broadly rounded, featureless apex."
