Found in southern Brazil in wet primary forests at elevations of 1100 to 1300 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped by 5 membraneous brown sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, stiff, olive-green, obovate, faintly conduplicate, finely attenuate below into the base leaf that blooms in the early winter and late spring on 1 to 2, erect, 1.4 to 1.6" [3.5 to 4 cm] long, mostly simultaneously 6 flowered inflorescence
