Common Name The Scabrous Pleurothallis [refers to the serrulate margins of the petals]

Found in Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia at elevations around 1600 to 2600 meters as a small to just medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with stout, erect ramicauls enveloped by a close tubular sheath below the middle and 2 to 3 others at the base and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, subacute to obtuse, cuneate below into the ill defined, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer and fall on an erect to arching, secund, loose, 8 to 12" [20 to 30 cm] long including the 4" [10 cm] long peduncle, simultaneously several to many flowered inflorescence arising through a narrow spathe and has a tubular, oblique floral bract.
