Found in Espirito Santo state of Brazil without locational data as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing, caespitose epiphyte with slender, erect, ramicauls enveloped by 2 loose, tubular sheaths near the middle and another at the base and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, subacute, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late spring and early summer on an erect, from near the apex of the ramicaul, peduncle .4 to .8" [1 to 2 cm] long, rachis .4 to .6" [1 to 1.5 cm] long, subflexuous, successively 1 to 2, few flowered inflorescence with almost as long to as long as the pedicel floral bracts.
"This species is characterized by a subflexuous, purple-flowered raceme that eventually reaches the tip of the elliptical leaf. The dorsal sepal, synsepal, and the spathulate petals are glabrous; the lip is oblong and microscopically papillose above the middle, and with the sides erect and slightly dilated on the middle third, and with a pair of low calli also on the middle third."
