Common Name The Radiating Pleurothallis [refers to the tepals]

Found in Rio de Janiero state of Brazil in wet montane forests at elevations around 1200 to 1300 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with slender, compressed towards the apex, deeply furrowed ramicauls enveloped below by 3, short-lived, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, stiff, elliptical, dark olive green leaf that blooms in the summer and fall on to 3, curved, slender, 4 to 5.6" [10 to 14 cm] long including the 1.2 to 1.4" [3 to 3.5 cm] long peduncle, simultaenously 20 to 30 flowered inflorescence arising through a spathe at the base of the leaf and carrying unpleasantly scented flowers.
