Common Name or Meaning The Stretched Out Pleurothallis [refers to the elongate peduncle]

Found in Risaralda Colombia at elevations around 2000 meters as a mini-miniature to miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with erect, very slender ramicauls enveloped by a tubular sheath below the middle and 2 to 3 others near the base and carrying a single, apical, spreading, coriaceous, elliptical-ovate, acute, cuneate to rounded below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the late fall and early winter on a slender, suberect to erect, 1.2 to 1.6" [3 to 4 cm] long including the .4 tyo .8" [1 to 2 cm] long peduncle, single flowered inflorescence arising through a spathe.

This species has an elongate peduncle holding the yellow, red striped flower well above the leaf. The widely expanded flower has a narrowly obtuse sepal and synsepal, petals that are nearly as large and the lip is triangular in shape.
