Found in Colombia and Ecuador at elevations around 1400 to 2500 meters as a small to medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by a close tubular sheath below the middle and 2 others at the base and carrying a single, apical, thinly coriaceous, narrowlyt elliptical, acute, narrowly cuneate below into the slender petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall through early winter on a pendent, 2 to 2.43" [5 to 6 cm] long including the .8 to 1.2" [2 t o3 cm] long peduncle, loosely few flowered inflorescence arising from a spathe from an annulus below the apex of the ramicaul with an infundibular floral bract
Related to P lindenii but differs in the slender ramicauls, many of which are shorter than the narrowly elliptical, narrowly petiolate base leaves. It also has striped flowers like P lindenii but differs in the cordate, entire lip with small basal callii.
