Found in Bolivar state of Venezuela and Guyana without elevational data as a mini-miniature sized, hot growing epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by a tubular sheath near the middle and 2 to 3 others at the base and carrying a single, suberect to spreading, coriaceous, elliptical-oblong, subacute to obtuse, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a loose, subdistichous, 4 to 10" [10 to 25 cm] long, simultaneously many flowered inflorescence arising through a narrow spathe with an annulus below the apex of the ramicaul.
Disitnguished from P stenophylla and P sclerophylla by the oblong, obtuse sepals that are sometimes slightly narrowed above the middle and a lip with high lobes on the middle thirds flanking a pair of verrucose calli without a midline callus and a column without a beak that occurs in P sclerophylla."
