Found in Mexico in humid montane forest, partially cleared for pasture, etc. on steep volcanic slopes and alluvial flats at elevations of 1700 to 2150 meters . Along the Rio Cordoban in sandy and rocky soil as a miniature to small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by a tubualr sheath and 2 to 3 others at the base and carryign a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, subacute to obtuse, cuneatte below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring and summer
