Found in the Sierra de Nipe in eastern Cuba in humid and shady places in mesophyllous evergreen rainforests and montane rainforests from 500 to 600 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with very short ramicauls enveloped by 4, scarious, conduplicate, acute sheaths and carrying a single, apical, ereect, coriaceous, narrowly elliptic to oblanceolate, acute to shortly apiculate, glabrous, narrowly attenuate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a glabrous, terminal, filiform, flexuous, ascending to pendent, 2" [5 cm] long, successively few flowered inflorescence arising through a spathe with an annulus.
