Found in eastern & southern Brazil in wet humid forests at elevations of 700 to 900 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped by 3 brown sheaths and carrying a single, apical, various shaped from lanceolate to elliptical, leathery, dark olive green to wine red, conduplicate and attenuate into the base leaf that blooms in the spring on 1 to 2, 2.4 to 3.2" [6 to 8 cm] long, mostly simultaneously to 8 flowered inflorescence and carrying fragrant flowers
