Found in southern Ecuador at elevations of 2600 to 3100 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with ascending ramicauls enveloped by 2 tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly obovate, acute to subacute, gradually narrowing below into the indistinct petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a loose, flexuous, distichous, 2.2" [5.5 cm] long, including the .4" [1 cm] long peduncle, successively 2 to 12 flowered inflorescence arising from near the apex of the ramicaul and has a tubular floral bract
