Common Name The Laminate Pleurothallis [refers to the tall, thin calli of the lip]

Found in Ecuador in elfin cloud forests at elevations around 2500 to 3000 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with slender, suffused with purple, erect ramicauls with a long, tubular sheath near the middle and 2 to 3 imbricating sheaths at the base and carrying a single, apical, erect, rigidly coriaceous, purple suffused beneath, narrowly elliptical, acute to subacute, cuneate below into the slender, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the later spring on a single, 7.2" [18 cm] long, subsecund, subdense, simultaneously several flowered inflorescence arising through a slendser spathe with infundibular floral bracts
