Found in Chiapas Mexico and Guatemala at elevations of 1500 to 2300 meters as a small sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte with slender, terete, erect ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3, thin, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, subacute to obtuse, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall, spring and summer on an erect, 3.2 to 6.8" [8 to 17 cm] long peduncle and 5.6" to 12" [14 to 30 cm] long overall, loose, secund, simultaneously many flowered inflorescence subtended by a spathe arising from near the apex of the ramicual and has oblique, acute floral bracts.
