Found in southern Bahia and Espiritu Santo State of Brazil at elevations of 1000 to 1950 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte or rupicolous lithophyte with erect ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3 sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, fleshy, elliptical, dark green to wine colored, abruptly narrowing below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, 1.2" [3 cm] long, 2 to 5 flowered inflorescence carrying very fragrant flowers
