Found in southwestern Colombia and Ecuador in scrub cloud forests at elevations around 1400 to 3000 meters as a small sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte with an erect ramicaul enveloped by 2 sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, ligulate, obtuse, shortly bilobed apically, narrowing below into the subpetiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring and summer on a single, erect, 7.2" [18 cm] long, subdensely many flowered inflorescence with cucullate-ovate, shortly acuminate flroal bracts.
