Common Name The Same Sort Pleurothallis [refers to its similarity and proximity to P pendulifera

Flower Size .72” [1.8 cm]

Found in Carchi province of Ecuador at elevations 2000 to 2500 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing with slender, erect, ramicauls with a tubular sheaths below the middle and 2 to 3 others at the base and carrying a single, apical, thinly coriaceous, suberect, ovate, acute, slightly acuminate, cordate below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the winter on a 1 to 2, erect, arising through a spathe at the base of the leaf, peduncle 2 to 2.4” [5 to 6 cm] long, 7.2 to 10” [18 to 25 cm] long overall, subcongested, distichous, simultaneously many flowered inflorescence with tubular, , shorter than the pedicel floral bracts.

Similar to P pendulifera but differs in the broader petals and the concave lip with very short, obtuse, lateral lobes.
