Found in the Darien of Panama at elevations of 750 to 1400 meters as a miniature to small sized, warm growing epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls with a tightly adpressed, tubular sheath below the middle and 2 to 3 others at the base and carrying a single, erect, coriaceous, ovate, acute, rounded below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the later summer on a fascile of a few, filiform, 1.6 to 2" [4 to 5 cm] long including the 1 to 1.2" [2.5 to 3 cm] long, successively single, 2 to 3 [7] flowered inflorescence arising through a spathe at the base of the leaf and has an infundibular floral bract.
