Found in Pichincha province of Ecuador without elevations as a small to medium sized, cold growing epiphyte with suberect to horizontal, slender to relatively stout ramicauls with a close tubular sheath on the lower third and another 1 to 2 at the base and carrying a single, apical, suberect to spreading, thickly coriaceous, oblong-ovate, obtuse, shortly acuminate, deeply cordate below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the spring on fascile of successively single, few flowered inflorescence arising through and concealed by a spathe.
