Found in Panama at elevations around 2400 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls with a tubular sheath below the middle and 2 to 3 others at the base and carrying a single, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, acute, more or less acuminate, acuminate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter on a fascile of a few to several, simultaneous single flowered inflorescence enveloped by a spathe at the base of the petiole with thin floral bracts.
