Found in Bolivar Venezuela on the top of Ptari-tepui at elevations of 2100 to 2285 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped with a tubular sheath below the middle and 2 others at the base and carrying a single, apical, erect to horizontal, coriaceous, ovate, acute, shallowly cordate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a successively single flowered inflorescence arising through a spathe at the base of the leaf
