Common Name The Cajamarca Pleurothallis [A Department of Peru]

Found in Huambas province of Peru at elevations around 2400 to 2500 meters as a large sized, cold growing presumably epiphytic orchid with slender, erect ramicauls carrying a single, apical, erect to suberect, coriaceous, oblong-ovate, acute, subrounded to broady cuneate below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the fall on 2 to 4, loose, pendent, to 4" [10 cm] long, 5 to 8 flowered inflorescence arising from the base of the leaf with shortly acuminate floral bracts.

"Known only from Schlechter's original description and the holotype was destroyed in Berlin. A "depressed, obtuse and apiculate" callus is described as present on the ip, but I believe that the crude drawing has been misinterpreted. Instead of a callus, the structure shown on the lip appears to be the reflection of the base of the lip." Luer 1999
