Found in Panama and Colombia in cloud forests at elevations of 750 to 1200 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with short, slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by 2 thin, tubular sheaths and carrying a single apical, coriaceous, narrowly obovate, subacute gradually narrowing below into the indistinct petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on a congested fascile of more or less horizontal, 2 to 3.2” [5 to 8.5 cm] long, successively single flowered inflorescence with thin, tubular, imbricating floral bracts.
