Common Name The Gnat-Like Platystele
Flower Size .15" [3 mm]
Found in Colombia and Ecuador in cloud forests at elevations around 1100 to 2500 meters as a miniature to small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with slender ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3, thin, ribbed, imbricating sheaths and carrying an erect, coriaceous, narrowly elliptical-obovate, subacute, narrowing cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring and summer on an erect, slender, .4 to .8" [1 to 2 cm] long including the .4 to .8" [1 to 2 cm] long peduncle, loose, flexuous, disitchous, successively several to many flowered, racemose inflorescence arising laterally from the ramiucal with thin floral bracts.
