Common Name The Long Hairy Fringed Platystele [refers to the hairy Lip]

Found in Imbabura Ecuador in wet forests at elevations around 900 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped by 1 to 2 thin, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, obtuse, cuneate below into the slender petiolate base leaf that blooms in the later fall on a capillary, subcongested, .88" [2.2 cm] long including the .28 to .36" [7 to 9 mm] long peduncle, flexuous, distichous, successively several flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul.
