Found in Minas Gerais state of Brazil at elevations around 670 meters as a small to medium sized, warm growing epiphyte with ascending to erect ramicauls enveloped by 7 to 8 tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apcial, erect, thickly coriaceous, elliptical, obtuse to rounded, cuneate below into the subpetiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a fascile of simultaneous single flowers arising at the apex of the ramicaul and has inflated, sparsely pubescent-spiculate floral bracts.
