Common Name The Pan Echinosepala [Greek god that is short horned and bristly haired]

Found in Costa Rica and Panama in cloud forests at elevations of 700 to 800 meters as a miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with stout, erect enveloped below by 3 to 4 imbricating, tubular, hirsute, often fragmented sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly ovate, acute, acuminate, cuneate below into the conduplicate, sessile base leaf that blooms in the winter on a pubescent, .24 to .28" [6 to 7 mm] long, single flowered inflorescence arising from the lower nodes on the ramicaul or rhizome with densely pubescent floral bracts.
