Common Name The Revolute Masdevallia [refers to the rolled sides of the synsepal]

Found in Ecuador at elevations of 200 to 850 meters as a miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with erect, stout ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, ellitical, subacute to obtuse, narrowly cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms on a slender, ascending erect, triquetrous, very congested, successive several flowered, racemose, 8 to 10" [20 to 25 cm] long inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a bract at the base and inflated, imbricating floral bracts.
