Found in Peru at elevations around 3000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3, close, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceouse, narrowly elliptical, subacute, cuneate below into the slender, indistinct petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a slender, erect, triquetrous, 3.6" to 4.4" [9 to 11 cm] long, purple flecked, congested, successively few flowered inflorescence with a bract at the base and tubular, imbricating floral bract..
