Common Name or Meaning The Robust Masdevallia

Found in Ecuador without collection data as a small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with stout, erect ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly elliptical, acute, narrowly cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on an stout, ascending, 6 to 8.8" [15 to 22 cm] long, loose, successively single, few flowered inflorescence arising from near the base of the ramicaul, with a bract on the lower quarter and another above the base and an inflated floral bract.
